Olga Semenova was born in St. Petersburg Russia in to an artistic family. Her mother was a ballet dancer with the world famous Mariinsky (Kirov) Company who went on become a noted ballet teacher, her father was a well known actor.
Olga always knew she wanted to be a dancer like her mother, and at the age of ten she began her ballet training at the prestigious The Vaganova Ballet Academy - the alma mater of many international ballet stars.
Olga's teachers at The Vaganova Academy; Ludmila Komissarova (Olga's mother), Ninel Kurgapkina, Natalia Dudinskaya and Irina Gensler had all been students of the great Agrippina Vaganova herself, this has given Olga an extraordinary ballet heritage.
After a ballet career, she decided to follow her mothers foot steps to become a ballet teacher. She returned to The Vaganova Academy to undertake the four year professional dance teacher's diploma. Olga was awarded the PDTC diploma with distinction and MA ( Hons).
Olga taught ballet for junior and pre-graduation classes at The Vaganova Ballet Academy and former students are now dancing in leading Russian and International Companies.
In 1993 Olga was invited to London by The Linbury Trust ( Lady Sainsbury) to study at The Benesh Institute of Choreology.
Olga has 27 years teaching experience ( 5 years in St.Petersburg and 22 years in the UK). She helped to develop a Vaganova based ballet Syllabus for Seniors at the Central School of Ballet. She also developed an exam based Character Syllabus for ARBTA students up to 18 years, and trained teachers to implement the syllabus.
Olga has taught at different ballet schools in London, lectured at The RAD, Ballet classes at The Place, Laban Conservatoire of Music and Dance, The New English Ballet Theatre (company ballet classes), and taught International and British Master Classes.
She has worked as Head Teacher of Ballet and Character dance at The Gypsy Booth School of Theater Arts and as Ballet Mistress at The European Ballet.
Olga is currently teaching at Central School of Ballet (Pre-Senior Programme) and English National Ballet School.
Guest teacher at Monica Loughman Ballet (Ireland, Dublin), Noor Ballet School Fouette (Tallinn, Estonia), Bayer Ballet Academy (San Carlos, California, USA), Bristol Russian Ballet School & Youth Ballet Company (U.K), The Cecchetti Senior Associates Central (London), Gypsy Booth School of Theatre Arts (U.K), Regina Rodgers School of Ballet (Ireland), South East Ballet Scholars "Adagio", Teaching Ballet and Character Seminars for ARBTA (London).
She is doing choreography for Central School of Ballet, English National Ballet School, and guest choreographer at different UK and International schools.
Olga is adept in Ballet, Character and Contemporary Choreography.
Olga has an Enhanced CRB checked, has Public Liability Insurance (Dance Teacher Insurance ), Board of Dance Qualification Full Accreditation Awarding Body, Accredited Teacher Status.
